Before we start to different types of Tourism first I define What is mean by tourism.
The Tourism defined as the activity of temporary visitors staying at least 24 hours for leisure, business, family, mission or meeting.
In opposite Excursion is define as the activity of a temporary visitors staying less than 24 hours but excluding people in transit.
The Tourism we can see in two ways
International Tourism – When the travel is from one country to another, and
Domestic Tourism – When the travel is within the country i.e. trips taken by a tourist within his/her own country or where the origin and destination are in the same country.
In international tourism you will come across two other terms :
1) Inbound – This refers to tourists entering a country.
2) outbound – This refers to tourists leaving their country of origin for an other.

Culture is most important factor which attracts tourists to a destination.

Adventure tourism
Adventure tourism is a type of tourism that involves exploration or travel to remote, exotic, and potentially risky locations for the purpose of excitement and thrills.
It can include activities such as bungee jumping, white-water rafting, rock climbing, and safari tours. Adventure tourists are typically looking for a more immersive and authentic travel experience, and are willing to venture off the beaten path and try new things. Adventure tourism can be physically demanding and may require a high level of fitness, but it can also be mentally and emotionally rewarding, as it allows travelers to challenge themselves and learn new skills.
It involves exploration or travel with a certain degree of risk and which may require special skills and physical exertion.

Eco tourism
Eco tourism has is the types of tourism has been broadly defined as tourism which is ecological sustainable.
The concept of ecological sustainability subsumes the environmental carrying capacity of a given area.
It Minimize physical social behaviour and psychological impacts.
Build environmental and cultural awareness and respect.
Provide positive experience for both visitors and hosts.
It provides direct financial for conservation.
Generate financial benefits for both local people and private industry.

Rural tourism
According to the ministry of tourism Rural tourism is any form of tourism that showcases the rural life art, culture and heritage at rural locators.
Many villages can facilitate tourism because many villagers are hospitable and eager to welcome or host visitors.
Thereby benefiting the local community economically and socially as well as enabling interaction between the tourists and the locals for more enriching tourism.
Wildlife tourism
The wildlife circuit are aimed at sustainable ecological and nature centric across the multitude of national and State wildlife preserves and sanctuaries in India.
e.g Asam wildlife circuit, Madhya Pradesh wildlife circuit.
Leisure tourism
Tourists travel to experience a change in climate and place and learn something new, enjoy pleasant scenery or to know more about culture of a destination.
Tourists who seeks a break from stress of day to day life devote their holidays to rest relaxation and refresh themselves.
These tourists prefer to stay in some quiet and relaxed destination

Health tourism/Medical tourism
People have been traveling centuries to improve and rebuilt their health and stamina.
Today many people travel great distance to exotic locations or healthcare facilities in far away countries in search for medical treatment and care.
Sports tourism
This types of tourism refers to travel to which involves either viewing or participating in sports events.
Sports tourism is a fast growing sector of global tourism industry and equates to $7.68 billion.
Sports tourism attracts visitors to visit events like FIFI world cup, Cricket world cup, Olympic games etc.
Business tourism
The business travelers main motive for travel is work.
This types of tour involves attending meeting, conference, convention, selling products and meeting with clients.
Business tourism is popularly called as MICE (Meeting, Incentives, Conference and Exhibition) tourism.
Education tourism
In Education tourism who go for one place to another by learning or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, morals, belief, habits and personal development.
In education tourism the main focus about the culture participating specialized lectures of the eminent personalities and for research.
Family tourism
Involves the family unit and their participation in diverse forms of tourism activity.
This includes visiting ones relatives and friends for interpersonal reasons.
Many people in India travel for visiting their friends and relatives while visiting them people also visit nearby tourist attractions.

Sustainable tourism
Travel is basic necessity to tourism activities, so the concept of sustainable tourism is tightly linked to concept of sustainable mobility.
In 1988 the United Nations world tourism organization (UNWTO) defined sustainable tourism as leading to management of all resources in such way that economic, social and aesthetic needs can be fulfilled while maintaining cultural integrity essential ecological professes biological diversity and life support systems.
Responsible tourism
The Responsible tourism is about “Making better places for people to live in and better places for people to visit.
It requires that operators hoteliers, governments, local people and tourist take responsibility take action to make this types of tourism more sustainable.
Atomic tourism
Atomic tourism or Nuclear tourism is a recent form of tourism in which visitors learn about the Atomic Age by traveling to significant sites in atomic history such as museums with atomic weapons, missile silos, vehicles that carried atomic weapons or sites where atomic weapons were detonated.
Geotourism
It is tourism associated with geological attractions and destinations. Geotourism deals with the abiotic natural and built environments. Geotourism was first defined in England by Thomas Alfred Hose in 1995.
Political tourism
It involves tourism activities which covers visits to places of political interests that is places connected to leaders, movements etc
